Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, has officially announced the reinstatement of final-year examinations that were previously cancelled due to disruptive student behavior during a celebratory event on campus.

The exams were initially suspended last week after a large number of final-year students engaged in what university authorities described as a "wild" celebration. The event, marking the conclusion of a semester, escalated into an uncontrollable gathering, causing disturbances and violating campus regulations. In response to this situation, the university temporarily halted the scheduled exams to address safety concerns and restore order.

Following a thorough review and engagement with student leaders, university management has now decided to proceed with the final-year exams, which are set to take place starting next week. The reinstatement of the exams follows the university's commitment to upholding academic integrity while ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for all students.

In a statement, the Vice Chancellor of Ambrose Alli University, Prof. John O. Alabi, emphasized the importance of discipline and responsibility among the student body. "While we understand the excitement that comes with completing a semester, the safety and well-being of our students and the integrity of our academic processes are of paramount importance," said Prof. Alabi. "We urge all students to respect the rules and regulations of the university to ensure that academic activities are carried out without disruptions."

As part of the resolution, the university has also initiated a series of campus-wide initiatives aimed at fostering a more responsible and respectful campus culture. These include workshops on student conduct, peer mentorship programs, and enhanced security measures during student events.
