The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has officially suspended Felix Omemu, the South-South Zonal Secretary, due to allegations of misconduct that have undermined the integrity of the party and its leadership.
The decision was reached by the National Working Committee (NWC) following an internal review and a series of consultations with relevant stakeholders in the party. Omemu’s actions were deemed to be in direct violation of the party’s core principles and code of conduct, which mandates members to maintain the highest standards of discipline, loyalty, and respect for party processes.
In a statement issued today, the PDP emphasized that this disciplinary action aligns with its commitment to fostering unity, accountability, and transparency within its ranks, while ensuring that party officials adhere to the values that promote the welfare of the people and the success of the party.
"The People’s Democratic Party remains committed to maintaining discipline and order within its structure," the statement read. "Felix Omemu’s suspension is a clear message that no individual, regardless of their position, is above the law of the party. We are focused on upholding the values that resonate with our mission to serve the Nigerian people."
