The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) has called on Nigerians to reject the administration of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections, citing the government's failure to address the growing insecurity and deteriorating socio-economic conditions in the country. The CUPP expressed its deep concern over the recent spate of mass killings in Borno and Nasarawa states, calling for an immediate and comprehensive response from the federal government.

In a statement released today, the CUPP strongly condemned the increasing violence in these regions, particularly in Borno, where terror attacks by insurgents have left thousands of innocent civilians dead, and in Nasarawa, where communal violence and armed banditry have escalated, leading to widespread fear and displacement of residents. The coalition described these killings as a reflection of the government’s inability to secure lives and property and protect Nigerians from rising terror and criminal activities.

“We are appalled by the continued bloodshed in Borno and Nasarawa states, and the seeming indifference of President Tinubu and his APC-led administration to the suffering of Nigerians. These tragic events are a direct consequence of the failure to prioritize security and the welfare of citizens. The government’s inaction in the face of mounting violence shows that they are out of touch with the realities of the people,” the statement read.

CUPP also called on all Nigerians to unite and reject the APC in the next election, asserting that the ruling party’s poor governance and inability to deliver on its promises have led the nation to the brink of collapse. “The APC and its leadership have failed Nigeria on all fronts, particularly in addressing the security challenges facing the nation. It is time for a change. We urge all Nigerians to vote against the APC and its policies that have brought untold hardship to the people,” the coalition emphasized.
