In a significant development, an Abuja court has granted activist and political figure, Omoyele Sowore, bail in the sum of ₦10 million. The court issued the ruling earlier today, marking a key moment in the ongoing legal proceedings against him.

Along with the bail, the court imposed additional conditions, including the surrender of Sowore’s passport. This will restrict his ability to travel outside the country while the case remains under judicial review. The court also provided a 24-hour extension for Sowore and his legal team to meet the necessary conditions before his release can be finalized.

The ruling came after intense discussions between Sowore’s legal representatives and the prosecution, with Sowore facing charges linked to his activism and political campaigns.

“This is a moment of significant progress,” said one of Sowore’s lawyers. “We are pleased with the court’s decision to grant bail, and we will ensure that all conditions are met promptly.”
