American Airlines has received clearance from U.S. authorities to resume flight operations after a temporary systemwide grounding that affected thousands of passengers across the nation earlier today. The grounding, which was initiated due to a technical issue impacting the airline’s operational systems, has now been resolved, and American Airlines is fully operational once again.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) worked closely with American Airlines’ technical and operational teams to ensure that all safety measures and systems were in place before the resumption of flights. The airline’s fleet, which had been grounded for several hours, has now been cleared for takeoff, with delays and cancellations expected to be gradually resolved over the coming hours.
"We apologize for the disruption to our customers' travel plans today and appreciate their patience as we worked to address the technical issue,” said Robert Isom, President of American Airlines. "The safety of our passengers and crew is always our top priority, and we are grateful for the cooperation of the FAA in helping us resolve this situation swiftly."
