The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has expressed grave concern over the deteriorating security situation in Anambra State, calling on Governor Charles Soludo to take decisive and real action against criminal elements threatening the peace and stability of the state. IPOB's lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has condemned the continuous rise in criminal activities, including kidnappings, assassinations, and attacks on innocent civilians, which have put the lives of Anambra citizens in jeopardy.
In a statement released earlier today, Ejiofor emphasized that the people of Anambra are living in fear as criminal gangs operate with impunity across the state. He warned that these criminal activities must be tackled head-on and called for an immediate response from the Soludo administration, stating that the time for mere rhetoric and surface-level actions has passed.
"The escalating violence, kidnappings, and other criminal activities have turned Anambra State into a hotbed of insecurity. Governor Soludo must move beyond mere statements and take substantial, tangible actions to curb the reign of terror that is choking the state," said Ejiofor. "The people of Anambra deserve to live in peace, and it is the duty of the governor to ensure that law and order are restored."
Ejiofor also called for a robust collaboration between the state government and security agencies to dismantle criminal gangs that have been terrorizing the region. He urged Governor Soludo to use all available resources to ensure that the perpetrators of violence are brought to justice and that the safety of citizens becomes a top priority.
