The Kwara State Government has announced that civil servants who have not registered with the Kwara State Residents Registration Agency (KWSRRA) will not receive their salaries or bonuses for the month of November. This directive is part of the government's ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and transparency in resource management.
In a statement made by Dr. Hauwa Nuru, the Commissioner for Finance, it was emphasized that effective November 2024, only those workers who have completed their registration with KWSRRA will be eligible for salary payments and bonuses. This initiative aims to create a comprehensive database of residents, which is essential for effective planning and service delivery.
“The integrity of our data impacts all our financial and administrative systems,” Dr. Nuru stated. “A complete database helps us make informed decisions, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure that every eligible worker is compensated fairly and accurately.”
The government has mandated all state employees, including those across the 16 local governments, to complete their registration with KWSRRA as a prerequisite for salary eligibility. This move is designed to strengthen the payroll system and enhance service delivery across the state.
Dr. Nuru further explained that the KWSRRA registration is crucial for establishing unique identities for every resident, which will facilitate improved public safety and resource management. “By ensuring that every state worker is registered, we are building trust in our processes and working towards a more efficient and equitable system for our workforce,” she added.
