The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that oil lifting from the Dangote Refinery has yet to commence.

This statement comes amid ongoing discussions and efforts by IPMAN to establish direct lifting arrangements with the refinery.

IPMAN President, Abubakar Maigandi, confirmed that despite multiple attempts to engage with the Dangote Refinery management, no agreement has been reached.

Currently, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) remains the sole distributor of products from the Dangote Refinery. This arrangement has led to concerns among marketers and consumers about fuel pricing and availability.

The Dangote Refinery, a 650,000 barrels per day facility, has been a significant development in Nigeria’s oil sector. However, the lack of direct sales to independent marketers has created uncertainty in the market.

IPMAN remains hopeful that an agreement can be reached soon, which would allow for more competitive pricing and improved fuel distribution across Nigeria. The association continues to advocate for direct access to Dangote Refinery’s products to better serve the Nigerian market.
