The National Coordinator/CEO SERVICOM Presidency, Mrs Nnenna
Akajemeli has said that Customer Service Week celebration calls attention to
the importance of celebrating frontline staff and boost morale of staff in
Ministries Departments and Agencies of Government.
This assertion was made during her keynote address at the 2024
Customer Service Week celebration of various MDA’s in Abuja.
According to Akajemeli, Customer Service Week is celebrated
annually during first full week in October.
This year's celebration was slated globally from 7th - 11th
October 2024, to celebrate Customers Service around the world.
She added that, Customer Service Celebrations is a platform to
reward employees for the great and excellent service experience rendered in
their various service windows.
She further stated that, it also an avenue to raise awareness of
the value of the internal and external customers in different MDA’s.
The National Coordinator explained that, the official theme for
this year’s 2024 Customer Service celebration is “Above and Beyond”.
This theme highlights the inherent power in rendering quality
service delivery that far exceeds customers’ expectations.
She pointed out that, part of the set objectives for celebrating
customer service week is the recognition of hard work and dedication of staff
who go the extra mile and strive to create positive customer experiences.
It is also a platform for building customer loyalty and
satisfaction amongst stakeholders who come to take services from MDA' s she
quipped.
Akajemeli pointed out that the ‘’Qualities of Above and Beyond,
are empathy, understanding and addressing customer emotional needs, rather than
exhibiting preferences to selected customers.
The SERVICOM Team led by the National Coordinator visited the following MDA’S - Federal Ministry of Science and Technology and Innovation, Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, NEMSA, NEPC, TETFUND, NFVCB as measures to mark this year’s 2024 customer service week celebration in Nigeria, while other MDA’S will be visited during the course of the week-long celebrations.
