The Vice Presidential Candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed, has faulted the victory of the President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC). While speaking on Channels TV, Datti said the victory of Tinubu does not merit the electoral law and therefore he should not be sworn in as President of Nigeria on 29 May 2023.
Datti also described the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), Prof. Yakubu Mahmood and President Muhammadu Buhari as incompetent for overseeing a flawed election. He further stated that Nigerians cannot be fooled and they can't swear in an illegitimate President.
Datti Baba-Ahmed also accused INEC of failing to obey its guidelines by deliberately ignoring the use of BVAS and IREV during the presidential election.
He also said, swearing in Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on 29 May 2023 will bring an end to democracy in Nigeria. Datti said Nigeria is blessed with citizens of good character, he wondered how Nigerians would have a President allegedly indicted in drug trafficking in the United States of America.
