The Department of State Services, DSS warned against the plot to install an interim government to forestall the inauguration of the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Service, Peter Afunanya, said the plans also include violent protests to achieve the declaration of a state of emergency and securing court injunctions against the inauguration.
However, Adebayo Adewole ESQ the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP said the call for an interim government is similar to Boko Haram, ISWAP, and any other terrorist group.
Adebayo Tweeted that "Peaceful protest over elections is legitimate, even if unpleasant. Nigerians, especially youths, must avoid treason in promoting any so-called “interim government”, a high crime, on the same scale as joining Boko Haram, ISWAP, or any terror group. All gains will be lost.”

Some Senior Advocate of Nigeria said there is no single provision in Nigeria's constitution for an interim government and the plot must be rejected by all Nigerians while aggrieved citizens that are not satisfied with the outcome of the election should approach the courts.
