Ahmed Musa Ibeto, the Former Nigeria High Commissioner to South Africa and Former Deputy Governor of Niger State, dumped All Progressives Congress in his letter dated 3rd January 2023. This decision took place at Ibelu Central Ward, Magama Local Government Area of Niger State, where he stated the reasons for leaving the party.

He explained that the party lacked unity of purpose among party members and stakeholders which was occasioned by internal conflicts, threats, lack of genuine reconciliation coupled with a lack of commitment and dedication to the success of the party.

However, Ibeto's resignation from APC was a great shock to the party at large, which made the Peoples Democratic Party Campaign Council of Niger State welcome the development and invite Amb. Ahmed Musa Ibeto to return home and join the PDP in recovering Nigeria from his lost glory.
