In a landmark move to strengthen governance and accelerate development across Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has officially sworn in 16 newly appointed commissioners at a ceremony held at the International Centre for Culture and Events (The Dome), Akure.
Describing the event as a “significant milestone in the journey to building a greater Ondo State,” Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellent service delivery. He charged the new commissioners to hit the ground running, emphasizing that the expectations of the people are high and only the best will suffice.
In a bold and principled statement, Governor Aiyedatiwa cautioned family members, friends, and associates of the newly inaugurated commissioners against exerting undue pressure or soliciting personal favours. “While we appreciate your support, we must not put the new appointees under undue pressure by soliciting unnecessary favours,” he declared.
He further reminded the commissioners that their responsibilities extend beyond sectional interests, stating, “Your constituencies are not limited to specific areas; the entire state is your responsibility.”
Governor Aiyedatiwa reiterated his belief in “slow and steady governance,” highlighting the administration’s achievements within its first 100 days. He emphasized that consistency, goal attainment, and sustained progress are the cornerstones of his leadership approach.
