The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially denied reports suggesting that its Interim National Chairman, Senator David Mark, has endorsed any presidential aspirant for the upcoming 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a stakeholders’ meeting with the Kogi State chapter of the ADC in Abuja, Senator Mark emphasized that the party remains committed to building a credible and inclusive political platform and has not declared support for any candidate, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar or former Labour Party flagbearer Peter Obi.

“The ADC has no chosen or preferred candidate,” Senator Mark stated. “Our focus now is to build a platform that will appeal to the majority of Nigerians. We don’t want this great ship called Nigeria to sink. If we fail to rise up now, we may all go down with it.”

The former Senate President reiterated that all ADC members are equal stakeholders, and the party will operate under principles of fairness, transparency, and unity. He dismissed allegations of secret endorsements as false and misleading, urging the public to disregard such claims.

Senator Mark also responded to internal criticisms, including accusations from the party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, who alleged covert support for Atiku. Mark clarified that the ADC leadership is focused on national renewal and democratic integrity, not personal ambition or political favoritism.

The ADC coalition, recently adopted as the opposition’s platform for 2027, has drawn attention for its inclusive approach and commitment to addressing Nigeria’s pressing challenges. However, the party leadership insists that no aspirant will be given preferential treatment, and public declarations of interest have been suspended until solid party structures are in place.
