President Trump Accuses China of Breaching Tariff Agreements, Says US Won't Be 'Mr Nice Guy'

U.S. President Donald Trump has publicly accused China of violating a tariff agreement with the United States, escalating concerns over international trade relations. In a statement posted on Truth Social, Trump expressed frustration over what he described as China’s failure to uphold its commitments, declaring, “China, perhaps not surprisingly to some, HAS TOTALLY VIOLATED ITS AGREEMENT WITH US. So much for being Mr. NICE GUY!”

The accusation comes amid ongoing trade tensions between the two economic giants. The agreement, which was negotiated earlier this month, aimed to temporarily reduce tariffs and ease economic strain. However, U.S. officials have voiced concerns that China has been slow to implement promised trade reforms, particularly in removing certain countermeasures.

Ambassador Jamieson Greer, the current U.S. Trade Representative, reinforced Trump’s claims, stating that the administration is closely monitoring China’s compliance and finds Beijing’s behavior “completely unacceptable.”
