The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has expressed strong disapproval over recent remarks by the Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, commending the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
In a statement released on Tuesday by the APC’s State Publicity Secretary, Hon. Kunle Oyatomi, the party described Gbajabiamila’s comments as “misguided, insensitive, and an unfortunate endorsement of mediocrity.” The APC accused the Chief of Staff of ignoring what it called the “worsening socio-economic conditions” and “lack of tangible development” under Adeleke’s leadership.
“It is disappointing that someone of Gbajabiamila’s stature would publicly applaud an administration that has brought nothing but hardship and confusion to the good people of Osun,” Oyatomi said. “We find his statements not only misleading but also politically destabilizing, especially at a time when Osun APC is working tirelessly to rebuild trust with the electorate.”
The party went further to question the motive behind Gbajabiamila’s praise, suggesting that the comment may be politically motivated or based on inaccurate information. “We advise the Chief of Staff to consult more credible sources on the actual state of governance in Osun rather than relying on orchestrated narratives,” the statement added.
Governor Adeleke, elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has consistently defended his administration’s performance, citing infrastructural projects, welfare programs, and reforms in education and healthcare. However, the APC insists these achievements are either exaggerated or non-existent.
