Security has been significantly heightened across Anambra State as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu prepares for a one-day official visit on Thursday, May 8, 2025. The visit, which marks President Tinubu’s first official tour of the state since assuming office, will focus on commissioning key infrastructure projects and meeting with stakeholders to discuss ongoing development efforts in the region.

The Nigerian Police Force, in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and other security operatives, has deployed additional personnel to strategic locations across the state to ensure maximum security before, during, and after the presidential visit.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, the force confirmed that tactical units, including bomb disposal squads, surveillance teams, and rapid response units, have been activated and positioned to monitor high-risk areas and secure all designated routes and venues the President will be visiting.

“The heightened security is a proactive measure aimed at ensuring a hitch-free presidential visit. We are working closely with the Anambra State Government and all relevant stakeholders to ensure the safety of lives and property,” the statement read.
