The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Abubakar Isah, has made shocking allegations against Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. In a widely circulated video, Isah claims that he was abducted, beaten, and stripped naked after refusing a ₦100 million bribe intended to force his resignation.
According to Isah, the incident occurred on April 15, 2025, shortly after he submitted a petition to the Defence Headquarters regarding threats to his life. He alleges that he was blindfolded, taken to an undisclosed location, and coerced into recording a resignation speech, which was later aired on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
“These actions are a direct attack on democracy and student leadership in Nigeria,” Isah stated. “I was elected by students, not politicians, and I will not be intimidated into silence.”
In response to the allegations, a support group known as Friends of Seyi Tinubu (FOST) has dismissed the claims as politically motivated, asserting that Tinubu has no involvement in student politics.
The incident has sparked outrage among student communities, with protests erupting across several tertiary institutions demanding a thorough investigation. Isah’s legal counsel has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Department of State Services, urging immediate action.
