A coalition of N-Power beneficiaries across Nigeria has issued a strong call for the immediate release of the investigation report by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) into corruption allegations against former Ministers of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development — Dr. Betta Edu and Sadiya Umar-Farouk — as well as other top officials linked to the mismanagement of social intervention funds.

The demand follows months of silence since the EFCC commenced investigations into financial irregularities in the Ministry, including revelations of large-scale diversion of public funds meant for vulnerable Nigerians under programs such as N-Power. According to earlier reports confirmed by the EFCC, over N32.7 billion and $445,000 were recovered from fraudulent transactions connected to the Ministry.

Beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme, who have experienced significant delays in stipend payments and uncertainty about the future of the program, believe that justice and transparency must prevail. They argue that the public has the right to know the outcome of investigations into alleged abuses of power and misuse of public funds.

“Our lives were directly affected by the corruption that allegedly took place in the Ministry. Many of us depend on the stipends from the N-Power program to survive,” the coalition said in a statement. “We are calling on the EFCC and the Federal Government to publish the findings of their investigations. Nigerians deserve full disclosure.”

The group stressed that transparency is critical in restoring public trust in government programs, particularly those targeted at youth employment and poverty alleviation. They also urged President Bola Tinubu’s administration to take decisive steps toward prosecuting all those found culpable, regardless of political affiliation or status.
