Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, has announced a significant salary increase for newly employed medical doctors in the state, raising their monthly earnings to ₦500,000. This bold move is part of the administration’s broader commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector and ensuring quality medical services for residents.
The announcement was made during the Flag-off of Health Activation, an initiative aimed at improving healthcare delivery across Ebonyi. Governor Nwifuru emphasized that the salary increment is designed to attract and retain skilled medical professionals, addressing the long-standing manpower shortages in the state’s health facilities.
“This event is not just a ceremony—it is a declaration of our administration’s commitment to revitalizing the healthcare system of our dear state,” the governor stated. “For too long, our health sector has suffered from inadequate funding, personnel shortages, and a lack of essential equipment. This narrative must change, and it must change now.”
