The family of Osas Azenabor, who was reportedly arrested by police during a raid in the Mile 12 area of Lagos on November 1, 2024, has formally petitioned the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, demanding an urgent investigation into his disappearance.
According to the family, Osas was taken to Ketu Police Station following the raid but has not returned home since. Despite multiple visits to the station, the family claims they have been met with harassment and intimidation, with no clear explanation regarding Osas’s whereabouts.
In a petition filed by their legal counsel, Saidi Sanni, the family has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Osas’s prolonged detention. They are urging the police commissioner to secure his release and hold accountable those responsible for his disappearance.
“We are constrained to write directly to you on this matter of grave importance,” the petition states. “Our client’s family has visited the Ketu Divisional Police Station countless times, only to be humiliated or harassed. We strongly appeal for an investigative inquiry to ascertain the reason behind his detention and demand his immediate release.”
