The Presidency of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu today categorically refuted claims suggesting that a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cylinder was responsible for the recent explosion that occurred in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
In response to speculative reports circulating in certain sections of the media, the Tinubu administration emphasized that thorough investigations are currently underway to determine the precise cause of the explosion. The Presidency assured the public that all relevant authorities, including the Nigerian Police Force, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and other security agencies, are working diligently to identify the source of the incident.
A spokesperson for the Presidency stated, “At this stage, there is no official confirmation linking CNG cylinders to the explosion. We urge the public to refrain from drawing premature conclusions based on unverified reports. The safety and well-being of all Nigerians remain our top priority, and the administration is fully committed to ensuring that all necessary measures are taken to prevent such incidents in the future.”
The Presidency also reiterated its commitment to supporting all investigative efforts and promised to provide timely updates as more information becomes available. Nigerians are encouraged to remain calm and trust that the authorities are working hard to address the situation.
