A devastating accident occurred early this morning near the Nyanya Bridge in Abuja, when a Dangote cement truck lost control and crashed into several vehicles, causing a massive fire that led to the deaths of six people. The incident, which took place around 6:30 AM, involved a collision with 14 other vehicles, leaving a scene of destruction and chaos.

According to eyewitnesses, the Dangote truck, which was carrying a load of cement, swerved off the road before crashing into the vehicles traveling in the opposite direction. The crash triggered an intense fire, engulfing the truck and several of the other vehicles, leaving them completely burnt. Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the truck's loss of control, though initial reports suggest that brake failure may have played a role.

The tragic crash resulted in six confirmed fatalities, while numerous others sustained varying degrees of injury. Emergency response teams, including fire services, ambulance teams, and law enforcement, arrived promptly at the scene, managing to extinguish the fire and begin the recovery process.

"We are deeply saddened by this tragedy and offer our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims," said a spokesperson for Dangote Group. "We are fully cooperating with the authorities to determine the cause of the accident and to ensure that the necessary steps are taken to prevent such incidents in the future."

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has cordoned off the area, urging motorists to avoid the Nyanya Bridge and use alternative routes. Traffic in the surrounding areas has been severely impacted as rescue and recovery operations continue.
