The Honourable Minister of Interior, has strongly condemned the recent denial of a visa to Nigeria's Defence Chief, calling it an affront to Nigeria and its citizens. The Minister described the refusal as a disrespectful action that undermines the sovereignty and dignity of the country.
Speaking at a press briefing earlier today, the Interior Minister stated, “The denial of a visa to our highly esteemed Defence Chief is not only an insult to the Nigerian government but also to the millions of Nigerians who uphold the values of respect, dignity, and national pride. This act is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
The Defence Chief had been scheduled to attend an international security conference, which aims to foster dialogue and collaboration on global peace and security matters. The rejection of his visa application has sparked outrage among the Nigerian government, military officials, and citizens.
In response to the incident, the Interior Minister warned of possible retaliatory measures. “Nigeria reserves the right to take all necessary actions in response to this unprovoked slight,” he added. “We are exploring all diplomatic and legal avenues to ensure this does not happen again and to protect the interests of our nation on the global stage.”
