Taraba Village Head Collected N1.5 Million From Bandits to Set Up Camp In His Domain – Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army has revealed that the Village Head of a community in Taraba State allegedly received a sum of N1.5 million from bandits operating in the region to establish a bandit camp within his domain.


According to a statement from the Army, investigations have uncovered the involvement of the village head in facilitating criminal activities, which have been detrimental to the safety and security of local residents. The army confirmed that the individual used the funds to support the establishment of a bandit stronghold, which has posed a significant threat to peace and order in the area.


This revelation comes amidst ongoing military operations aimed at combating terrorism and banditry across various parts of Nigeria. The Army emphasized that the Village Head’s actions were in direct violation of national security policies, and further investigations are being conducted to determine the full extent of his involvement with criminal groups.


In a bid to curb the menace of banditry, the Nigerian Army has called on all community leaders and citizens to be vigilant and cooperate with security forces to ensure the safety of the region. The army also stated that they will continue to take decisive action against any individuals or groups found to be aiding or abetting criminal activities.
