In a significant legal move, Natasha, a prominent public figure, has filed a lawsuit against Senator Godswill Akpabio, the former governor of Akwa Ibom State and current Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, accusing him of defamation. The suit, which was filed in the High Court of Lagos State, seeks a staggering N1.3 billion in damages.

According to the lawsuit, Natasha claims that Akpabio made defamatory statements about her during a recent public appearance, which have severely damaged her reputation and caused significant emotional distress. Natasha alleges that Akpabio’s comments, made without any factual basis, were not only harmful to her personal image but also jeopardized her professional standing and public trust.

The plaintiff, who is well-known for her active involvement in various social and community initiatives, asserts that Akpabio’s remarks were false, malicious, and designed to tarnish her character. Natasha’s legal team argues that the statements were reckless, and the defendant failed to take responsibility for the harm caused by his actions.

As part of the lawsuit, Natasha is demanding N1.3 billion in damages to compensate for the harm to her reputation, the emotional distress she endured, and the impact on her career. Additionally, she is seeking an apology and a retraction of the defamatory statements made by Akpabio.
