Renowned lawyer and human rights advocate, Barrister Olajengbesi, has strongly condemned the recent unlawful invasion of Local Government Secretariats across Osun State. Terming the act as an "attempted coup," Olajengbesi called for swift legal action against those responsible, as the invasion represents a dangerous and undemocratic assault on the governance structures of the state.

In a statement released today, Barrister Olajengbesi expressed deep concern over the unlawful takeover of local government facilities by individuals with unclear motives. He described the incident as a direct attack on the democratic process and the rule of law, emphasizing that such actions have no place in a constitutional democracy.

"This unlawful invasion of government property and the disruption of local administration in Osun is nothing short of an attempted coup," Olajengbesi said. "It undermines the principles of democratic governance, threatens the peace and stability of the state, and places the citizens of Osun at risk."

The lawyer called on the Osun State government, law enforcement agencies, and relevant authorities to immediately take legal action to hold those responsible accountable, ensuring that the local government structures are restored to their rightful operation without further delay.

Olajengbesi further stressed the importance of maintaining the rule of law and ensuring that all actions taken by government officials and individuals align with constitutional mandates and democratic principles. He warned against any attempt to undermine the will of the people and the institutions that serve them.
