Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has vehemently denied claims that he is seeking favours from the camp of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. El-Rufai categorically rejected reports suggesting he was attempting to leverage his political connections for personal gain.

El-Rufai, who served as governor of Kaduna State for two terms, addressed these speculations in a public statement, asserting that he has always been driven by his commitment to the people of Nigeria and not by any personal interests or ambitions. He emphasized that his conscience is clear, and he has no intention of engaging in underhanded deals with any political factions, including the Tinubu camp.

"Let me make this clear: I have never, and will never, seek favours from any individual or political group. I am committed to my principles, and my conscience will not allow me to make decisions that would undermine my integrity or the trust of the Nigerian people," El-Rufai stated.

He further stressed that such baseless claims were part of a campaign to tarnish his reputation and distract from the real issues facing the nation. The former governor expressed confidence that those making false accusations would struggle to find peace, as their conscience would not "let them sleep well."

El-Rufai’s remarks come amidst growing political tensions in the country and serve as a firm rebuttal to the ongoing rumors and accusations surrounding his relationship with the current administration. He reiterated his belief in the importance of transparent leadership, asserting that Nigeria’s future should be built on the values of honesty, accountability, and national progress, rather than on selfish gains.
