The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has issued a stern warning to the public against engaging with unauthorized and illegal registration centres in the ongoing 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) process. The board emphasized that only accredited centres are authorized to conduct registrations for the exam.
In a statement released today, JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and secure registration process for all candidates. The board noted that the use of illegal registration centres not only violates the regulations but also exposes candidates to fraudulent activities and the risk of having their registrations invalidated.
The warning comes in light of recent developments in Jigawa State, where a total of 1,021 candidates were successfully registered for the 2025 UTME. JAMB commended the efforts of accredited centres in the state and assured the public that measures are being taken to ensure the integrity of the registration process.
“The Board is committed to maintaining the highest standards of transparency and accountability. We are working closely with security agencies to identify and shut down any illegal centres operating within the state and across the country. Candidates are advised to only visit accredited centres to avoid falling victim to fraudulent activities,” said Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Media and Information at JAMB.
