The Kano State Anti-Graft Agency has arrested four individuals, including an aide to Governor Abba Yusuf, in connection with a suspected N105 million fraud. The individuals are accused of engaging in fraudulent activities that resulted in the embezzlement of substantial state funds.
The accused, identified as a senior aide to the governor, alongside three other suspects, were apprehended following a detailed investigation into financial discrepancies within the state's operations. The agency's operatives uncovered evidence suggesting that the funds were misappropriated through a series of illegal transactions and financial misconduct.
The arrest follows a series of audits and intelligence gathering by the Kano Anti-Graft Agency, which has been actively tackling corruption and mismanagement within the state's government institutions. The agency’s director emphasized that the investigation is ongoing, with additional suspects potentially involved in the illegal activity.
In a statement, the Director of the Kano Anti-Graft Agency, Mallam Bashir Bello, remarked, "We are committed to ensuring transparency and accountability in all arms of the state government. No one is above the law, and we will continue our efforts to hold individuals accountable for any abuse of public trust."
