In a move to strengthen the state's healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality health services, the Kogi State Government has announced an allocation of N7 billion to revamp 88 health centres across the state. This ambitious initiative is part of the government's broader commitment to improving healthcare delivery and ensuring the well-being of all Kogi residents.

Governor Yahaya Bello, during a press briefing, emphasized that the revamping project will focus on upgrading facilities, equipping health centres with essential medical tools, and ensuring that healthcare professionals are well-trained and adequately supported to meet the needs of the communities they serve.

"We are determined to ensure that our people, especially those in rural and underserved areas, have access to quality healthcare services," Governor Bello stated. "This N7 billion investment is a testament to our administration’s unwavering commitment to improving healthcare services and ensuring that no one is left behind."

The 88 health centres, strategically located across the 21 local government areas, are expected to serve as vital points of care for thousands of residents. The renovation and refurbishment efforts will include the construction of modern healthcare facilities, the provision of medical equipment, and the training of medical staff in line with global standards.

The project is expected to create jobs within the healthcare sector and stimulate local economies, providing opportunities for healthcare professionals, contractors, and suppliers. Additionally, the initiative is aligned with the state’s goal to reduce the burden on tertiary hospitals by strengthening primary healthcare and promoting preventative care.
