Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has publicly denied allegations of a plot to assassinate former U.S. President Donald Trump, calling the claims "completely false" and part of an effort to escalate tensions between the two nations. In a statement issued today, Raisi reaffirmed Iran's commitment to diplomacy and expressed hope for a more peaceful future under the leadership of the U.S. President-Elect.

"Any suggestions or rumors of an assassination plot are utterly baseless and contrary to Iran's commitment to peaceful resolution of conflicts," said Raisi during a press conference in Tehran. "We do not seek violence or instability. Iran stands ready to engage in constructive dialogue with the new U.S. administration to address shared challenges and work toward a more peaceful and secure world."

The remarks come after reports surfaced alleging a possible Iranian-backed conspiracy to target Trump. These reports, which have yet to be substantiated, have fueled international concern. Raisi used the opportunity to call for diplomacy over conflict and urged the incoming U.S. President-Elect to focus on de-escalation and building stronger international relations.

"We urge the new leadership in Washington to take bold steps toward peace," Raisi continued. "The path forward requires mutual respect, adherence to international norms, and a commitment to peacebuilding. We stand ready for dialogue, and we hope the United States will reciprocate."
