It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde, the elder brother of Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde. Chief Makinde, who served as the Bada Olubadan of Ibadanland, passed away in the early hours of Friday at the age of 65.


In a statement released by the Special Adviser on Media to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde expressed his deep sorrow over the loss of his brother, describing him as a pillar of support and a significant influence in his life. "My brother was not just a family member; he was a mentor and a guiding light. His wisdom and kindness will be sorely missed," said Governor Makinde.


Chief Olumuyiwa Makinde was known for his contributions to the community and his dedication to public service. As the Bada Olubadan, he played a vital role in promoting peace and unity within Ibadanland.
