A serious incident occurred at Gimhae International Airport today when an Air Busan aircraft caught fire shortly after arriving at the gate. The aircraft, which was arriving from a domestic flight, was safely evacuated, and emergency responders immediately took action to contain the blaze.

At approximately 10:45 AM local time, smoke was observed coming from the engine compartment of the aircraft as it taxied to the gate. The crew followed established safety protocols and quickly initiated an emergency evacuation of all 134 passengers and crew members onboard. All individuals were safely escorted off the plane, with no reported injuries.

Firefighters responded swiftly to the scene and extinguished the fire within minutes. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but early reports suggest the fire originated in one of the aircraft's engines. Authorities are working with Air Busan’s safety team and airport officials to determine the exact cause.

The airport was temporarily closed during the incident, causing delays to some departing flights. However, operations resumed shortly after the fire was contained, and the airport authorities are working to minimize any further disruptions to travel.

Air Busan has expressed relief that there were no injuries and has pledged to cooperate fully with all relevant authorities to determine the cause of the fire. The airline has also confirmed that they will provide assistance to passengers affected by the incident, including rebooking, accommodations, and other necessary services.

“We are extremely grateful for the quick response of our crew and emergency responders, which allowed us to safely evacuate everyone on board. The safety of our passengers and crew remains our top priority, and we will continue to work with authorities to ensure a full investigation into this incident,” said an Air Busan spokesperson.
