The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to personally experience the everyday challenges faced by Nigerians by traveling by road from Abuja to Lagos, visiting local markets, and walking the streets to interact directly with the people.

In a statement issued today, the PDP expressed deep concern over the widening gap between the leadership and the citizens, stressing that those in power must step outside the comfort of their offices to truly understand the dire economic and social conditions that Nigerians endure daily.

The PDP further emphasized that a road trip from Abuja to Lagos would offer the President a firsthand perspective on the state of the nation’s infrastructure, the burdens faced by ordinary citizens, and the glaring inadequacies that contribute to the country’s ongoing struggles.

“We believe that a direct engagement with the people, through visiting local markets, walking the streets, and seeing the challenges up close, will provide President Tinubu with a clearer understanding of the hardships Nigerians are grappling with,” said the party’s spokesperson. “From the rising cost of living to the crumbling roads, our citizens are in urgent need of leadership that truly empathizes with their pain and is committed to enacting real solutions.”

The PDP highlighted the numerous difficulties citizens face, including escalating food prices, lack of access to basic services, poor road conditions, and the effects of inflation. The party urged the President to listen to the concerns of Nigerians and take immediate steps to address their pressing needs.
