The Ondo State Government has issued a stern warning to former aides of the late ex-Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, to immediately return all state property in their possession. The government has emphasized that failure to comply will result in legal action.

In a statement released by the State Ministry of Information, the government expressed concern over the continued retention of state assets by former officials, despite the transition to a new administration. These items, which include vehicles, official documents, and other state-owned resources, were unlawfully kept after the tenure of the late governor concluded.

The government has given a 7-day ultimatum for the return of these items. A spokesperson for the Ministry of Information, who spoke on behalf of the state government, reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding the public's assets, stressing that the state property should be returned to the rightful authorities for proper inventory and management.

"These properties belong to the people of Ondo State, and any unlawful possession or misuse will not be tolerated," the statement read. "We urge all concerned individuals to adhere to the law and return the items without further delay. Non-compliance will leave us no choice but to take legal steps to recover the assets."
