Chief Rita Lori-Ogbebor, a prominent rights activist and the widow of late Colonel Paul Ogbebor, has publicly condemned the recent actions of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), regarding the unlawful reallocation of her late husband's property in Abuja. This property, owned by Paulosa Nigeria Limited, was legally acquired by Colonel Ogbebor and has been a significant part of his legacy.

On November 22, 2024, the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) issued a quit notice to the estate’s management, claiming illegal occupation. Just weeks later, on December 9, 2024, the property was reallocated to Saravera Nigeria Limited, a company linked to Honorable Kingsley Chinda, a three-term member of the House of Representatives and a close associate of Minister Wike. Chief Lori-Ogbebor has accused Wike of using his political power to facilitate this transaction for personal gain.

"This is not just an attack on my family; it is an affront to all Nigerians who believe in justice and fair play," said Chief Lori-Ogbebor. "My husband dedicated his life to serving this nation and played a pivotal role in developing Abuja. It is unjust to strip away his legacy for the benefit of political cronies."

Documents obtained from the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) reveal that Kingsley Chinda is a director at Saravera Nigeria Limited, raising concerns about conflicts of interest and potential violations of the Code of Conduct for public officials. The rapid issuance of title documents within two months has sparked outrage among residents and advocates who see it as part of a broader scheme of land grabbing orchestrated by Wike.

Chief Lori-Ogbebor emphasized that her family possesses all valid documentation proving their rightful ownership of the property. She has called upon President Bola Tinubu to intervene and investigate these actions, which she describes as land racketeering that undermines public trust in governance.

"I urge President Tinubu to summon Minister Wike and demand accountability for these egregious actions," she stated. "This is about more than just land; it is about preserving the dignity and memory of those who have contributed to our nation."
