Governor Yusuf Presents N549 Billion 2025 Budget to Kano State Assembly

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has officially presented the 2025 state budget, totaling N549 billion, to the Kano State House of Assembly. This marks a significant step towards advancing the state’s development agenda and laying the foundation for a more prosperous future for the people of Kano.


In his address, Governor Yusuf outlined key priorities for the fiscal year, emphasizing infrastructure development, education, healthcare, agriculture, and security. The proposed budget is divided into a capital expenditure of N275 billion and a recurrent expenditure of N274 billion, demonstrating the administration’s commitment to driving economic growth while ensuring the effective delivery of public services.


Governor Yusuf expressed confidence that the budget would be a catalyst for socioeconomic transformation in Kano, particularly in areas that directly impact citizens’ daily lives. He highlighted plans to invest in critical infrastructure projects, such as road construction, urban renewal, and affordable housing, which are expected to stimulate economic activities and create job opportunities for the youth.


On the education front, the Governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the quality of education, with increased funding for schools, vocational training programs, and the rehabilitation of existing educational facilities. He also outlined plans to boost healthcare funding, ensuring better access to medical services across the state, especially in rural areas.


In his speech, Governor Yusuf further stressed the importance of security, acknowledging that a stable and secure environment is critical to the continued progress of the state. He assured the Assembly and the people of Kano that his government would prioritize investments in security infrastructure and personnel training.


The Governor concluded by calling for collaboration between all stakeholders, including the Kano State House of Assembly, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to ensure the successful implementation of the 2025 budget and achieve the state’s development goals.
