In a dramatic turn of events, popular Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has reportedly been arrested by immigration authorities at the Seme border while attempting to flee to the Benin Republic. This incident comes in the wake of a summons from the House of Representatives regarding ongoing investigations into serious allegations of bribery and misconduct involving the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Social media activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, made the announcement via a video on his Instagram account, claiming that Bobrisky was apprehended this morning while trying to escape Nigeria to evade an investigative hearing scheduled by the House of Representatives. According to VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky is currently being held by Nigerian immigration officials at the border.

The controversy surrounding Bobrisky escalated following allegations that he had bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop charges against him related to money laundering. These claims were substantiated by an audio recording released by VeryDarkMan, in which Bobrisky allegedly admitted to paying off officials and discussed his privileged treatment during a previous incarceration.

The House of Representatives had summoned both Bobrisky and various officials from the EFCC to address these allegations. However, Bobrisky failed to appear before the committee, citing health issues—a claim that has been met with skepticism and demands for medical documentation from lawmakers.

The arrest at the Seme border raises significant questions about Bobrisky's legal standing and his future interactions with law enforcement. Observers speculate that this incident may further complicate his ongoing legal troubles and could lead to additional scrutiny from government authorities.
