Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke the Executive Governor of Osun State has been confirmed as the authentic Governor of Osun State by the Supreme Court on Tuesday 9 May, 2023.
During the ruling, a five-member panel of the supreme court concluded that Ademola Adeleke was correctly reinstalled as governor by the court of appeal in the proper manner.
A five-judge panel of the Supreme Court decided who, out of Senator Ademola Adeleke, the current governor of Osun State, and Isiaka Oyetola, the most recent governor, would lead the state’s administration.
The former Governor of the State, Gboyega Oyetola and All Progressives Congress, APC, approached the Supreme Court in a suit numbered, SC/CV/510/2023, praying the court to set aside the decision of the Court of Appeal held in Abuja, which ruled out January 27th, 2022 judgment of the Osun State Election Petition Tribunal for returning Oyetola as winner of the governorship election held on 16th July 2022.
