Another black Friday as over 10 people died as a result of a fire explosion in Rumuekpe in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.
This ugly incident occurred early Friday morning 3rd March 2023. At the time of gathering this information, there is no official confirmation of the actual number of casualties recorded as a result of the incident.
A piece of reliable information from one of the community members conveyed that one of the buses was loaded with crude oil packaged in bags. In the process to move the product out of the location, the driver started the vehicle engine and this resulted in a fire explosion.
It was reported that many vehicles got burnt alongside the driver and others nearby.
