APC Leader Sent to Prison over Alleged Killing of over Six People in Kano During the Presidential Election

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has been arrested by the Nigeria Police over the alleged killing of 6 people in Kano.



Hon Ado Doguwa who is representing Doguwa/Tudun Wada Federal Constituency of Kano State is a member of the ruling party All Progressives Congress (APC).



The Nigeria Police authorities confirmed the arrest of Hon Ado Doguwa on Wednesday 1st March 2023 stating that Doguwa was arrested at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport.


 

Doguwa was alleged of leading an attack on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in his constituency, which resulted in the death of over 6 persons. It was alleged that Hon Doguwa was declared the winner of the election by the INEC official at gunpoint.



Ado Doguwa was arraigned before the court in Kano today. The judge  has sent him to prison for the murder of 10 people during the National assembly elections in Kano



The lawmaker was alleged to have personally participated in the attack on the NNPP Party Secretariat. After shooting several people, the NNPP party office was then set ablaze killing at least 10 people.



State Criminal Investigation Department Officials intercepted and arrested him at the Malam Aminu Kano International Airport on his way to Saudi Arabia after ignoring police invitation.
