The Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira was Arraigned for Over One Billion Naira Fraud

The former Vice Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (ABU), Professor Ibrahim Garba was arraigned before Justice A. A Bello of Kaduna State High Court, following eight-count charges on money laundering of over one billion naira by the Kaduna Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. 


Professor Ibrahim was also arraigned alongside the school Bursar Mr. Shehu Usman. This arraignment followed months of a discreet investigation triggered by a petition accusing the duo of diverting monies from different accounts which were meant for the renovation of the Kongo Conference Hotel into their private accounts. 


Professor Ibrahim Garba was the 14th Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and a Professor of Geology. He was once the Vice-Chancellor of the Kano State University of Science and Technology, Wudil. Garba obtained a Diploma in Mineral Studies at the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science, Technology, and Medicine, London, in 1992 and later earned a Ph.D. (Geology) in 1993 at the University of London.
