The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially acknowledged the presence of technical glitches affecting the release of results for four major subjects in the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The affected subjects include Mathematics, English Language, Physics, and Economics.

In a statement released today, WAEC disclosed that the anomalies were discovered during routine post-release audits of the online result portal. The glitches, which stemmed from a system synchronization error between the marking database and the public results interface, led to incomplete or inaccurate scores being displayed for a subset of candidates.

To ensure the integrity of the examination process and prevent further dissemination of erroneous data, WAEC has taken the decisive step of temporarily shutting down the online result portal. The Council emphasized that this move is precautionary and aimed at safeguarding the credibility of the results.

"We regret the inconvenience caused to candidates, parents, and stakeholders. Our technical team is working round the clock to resolve the issue and restore full access to accurate results," said Dr. Amos Dangote, WAEC’s Head of National Office.
