The Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a forceful condemnation of recent remarks made by the U.S. President Donald Trump, calling them “insulting, bullying, and undignified” in reference to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

In a statement released by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, officials denounced President Trump’s comments—made via social media—as a “flagrant violation of international norms and a deep affront to the dignity of the Iranian people and the broader Muslim world.” The ministry described the remarks as “offensive and insolent,” warning that such rhetoric only serves to deepen global resentment toward U.S. foreign policy.

President Trump had claimed he “saved” Khamenei from “a very ugly and ignominious death” during recent hostilities between Iran and Israel, while also accusing the Iranian leader of making false claims of victory in the conflict. Iranian officials responded by calling the tone “disrespectful and unacceptable,” with Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urging the U.S. to adopt a more constructive and respectful approach if it seeks meaningful engagement.

The Iranian government also criticized what it called “inconsistent posturing” by the U.S., citing recent attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities and continued support for Israel as evidence of Washington’s disregard for international law.
