The All Progressives Congress (APC) officially announces the appointment of Hon. Ali Bukar Dalori as the Acting National Chairman of the party, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, former Governor of Kano State, from the position.

Dr. Ganduje tendered his resignation on Friday, June 27, 2025, through the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru. In his letter, he cited the need to attend to “urgent and important personal matters,” including health-related concerns. The party acknowledges and appreciates his service and leadership during a pivotal period in APC’s evolution.

In response to the leadership transition, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu directed Hon. Dalori, who previously served as Deputy National Chairman (North), immediately assumed the role of Acting National Chairman. This directive ensures continuity and stability within the party’s leadership structure pending the convening of the National Executive Committee (NEC) to formally elect a substantive chairman.

APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, praised Dr. Ganduje’s tenure, noting his contributions to party unity, democratic consolidation, and electoral competitiveness. “He leaves with pride in our collective achievements, including successful defections from opposition parties and legal affirmations of our leadership,” Morka stated.

Hon. Dalori’s appointment comes at a critical time as the party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections. The APC remains committed to delivering on the Renewed Hope Agenda and strengthening its grassroots engagement across all geopolitical zones.
