The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) is proud to announce that legendary Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti has been officially appointed as the new head coach of the Brazilian national football team. Ancelotti, one of the most decorated managers in football history, will take charge of the Seleção starting May 26, 2025, following the conclusion of Real Madrid’s La Liga season.

Ancelotti’s appointment marks a historic moment, as he becomes the first foreign coach to lead Brazil’s national team since 1925. The CBF expressed its excitement about the new era under Ancelotti’s leadership, emphasizing his unparalleled success across Europe’s elite competitions.

"The greatest national team in football history will now be led by the most successful coach in the world," the CBF stated. "We warmly welcome Mr. Ancelotti and look forward to a new era of success under his leadership."

Ancelotti, who has won a record five UEFA Champions League titles as a manager, will guide Brazil through the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with his first matches set against Ecuador and Paraguay in June. His vast experience managing top clubs such as AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid makes him a formidable addition to Brazil’s coaching legacy
