Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, has come out strongly against current Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani, calling him a "sycophant" for his unwavering defense of President Bola Tinubu, labeling it as an opportunistic stance of "defending him by all means."

In a scathing statement issued earlier today, El-Rufai accused Governor Sani of sacrificing integrity for political gain, suggesting that his defense of the President is nothing more than a display of self-interest and lack of independent judgment.

“I find it deeply troubling that Governor Sani has chosen to back President Tinubu with such blind loyalty and sycophantic fervor,” El-Rufai stated. “In any democracy, leadership should be about protecting the interests of the people, not defending individuals at all costs, especially when it undermines the truth and the welfare of the citizens.”

The former governor’s remarks come in response to Sani’s recent comments, where he defended President Tinubu's administration and political actions, claiming that it was essential to support the President "by all means necessary" for the sake of national unity and progress.

El-Rufai, a prominent figure in Nigerian politics, criticized this viewpoint, emphasizing the importance of accountability and transparency. “It’s one thing to support your leader, but it’s another to blindly defend decisions that are clearly not in the best interest of the people of Kaduna and Nigeria at large,” he added.

The comments from El-Rufai further intensify the ongoing political tension within Kaduna State and the broader political landscape, where many see the relationship between the two politicians as increasingly strained.
