The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Catriona Baxter, today visited His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, at his palace in Osogbo, Osun State. The visit marked an important diplomatic engagement between the United Kingdom and Nigeria, focusing on security, bilateral relations, and fostering closer cooperation between the two nations.
During her visit, Baxter emphasized the critical need for improved security measures across Nigeria, particularly in the southwestern region, as insecurity continues to affect communities, including Osun State. Baxter stated, "The United Kingdom remains committed to supporting Nigeria in its efforts to combat insecurity. We recognize the growing challenges faced by many communities here in Osun, and we are ready to collaborate with the Nigerian government and local leaders to enhance safety and promote peace."
