Benué APC Elders Back Assembly’s Decision to Remove Chief Judge

The Elders Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benué State has publicly endorsed the recent decision by the State House of Assembly to remove the Chief Judge from office, a move that has sparked widespread discussions across the state.


The elders, who represent the influential voices within the party, voiced their unwavering support for the legislative action taken by the Assembly, emphasizing the importance of upholding the rule of law and maintaining the integrity of the judicial system in Benué. They believe that the decision, though controversial, is in the best interest of the state and its people.


In a statement issued by the council, the elders highlighted that the House of Assembly acted within its constitutional rights and authority. They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the current administration’s efforts to ensure transparency, fairness, and accountability in the state's leadership, especially in matters involving the judiciary.


"The decision to remove the Chief Judge is a difficult one, but it is necessary to preserve the integrity of the judicial system and maintain public trust in our institutions," said the APC Elders Council in their statement. "We stand with the House of Assembly and the Governor, as they have acted in accordance with the law and the greater good of Benué State."
